07 Horseshoes

Music and lyrics written by Sherry Smith

Story

Well I've got great plans but I never seem to find the recipe and I'm cooking in my own stew - - it ain't where I want to be.

When I look around I see people striving just to get ahead, but I find it hard just to hold my own so I fantasize instead.

Chorus

Some folks are born with horseshoes up their  - - aaaasssssk anybody you see.

If you think all the while you'll get by on a smile, you'll be a fool just like me.

As the years go by the less I try to afford the luxury. I'll enjoy the simple pleasures and some are still for free.

I don't mind just working hard, sometimes it feels alright. As long as I can be with you and love you through the night.

Repeat Chorus and break.

Now don't you try to judge me on a scale from one to ten. That old cliche should be thrown away and we can start all over again.

I'm not always straight but I think I'm great, and that's how I survive and I know I'm gonna love you,,,,,as long as we're alive.

Repeat Chorus and end.

This is a song about being happy even when you are not where you want to be. It's about laughing and loving and being content with your lot in life. Good friends, family that love you, a job, a roof over your head, food in your belly and people to share it with are the important things. I have never been jealous of those that have it all in the material world. I am happy for them and happy for me.
