05 Makes a Difference

Music and lyrics written by Sherry Smith

Story

When I finally stood up to the plate and went to a certain anonymous program to get some help for my alcoholism - what came first was trying to change the way in which I thought. I always went for the negative before the positive and if I was going to survive I had to learn a different method. My friends in the program taught me to start with positive thoughts as soon as I woke up instead of letting my fear based thinking start the day. It works. This is my son's favorite song and he is featured on the CD singing with me. Our 7 years of putting this CD together has been healing for the both of us as it was so difficult for my two boys to cope with their wayward Mother. Alcoholism is a family disease and they have both had their experiences as well. ''I can buy a ticket to a place in Paradise, or I can roll around in Hell with a heart as cold as ice'' Choices.

Lyrics

It seems to make a difference on the way I greet the day.

If I just make up my mind - to blow it all away.

I can buy a ticket to a place in Paradise or I can roll around in hell with a heart as cold as ice.

Makes no difference how you play the game.

Three bags full it's all the same.

We don't like it when we get caught

Looking for,,,,,,somebody to blame.

Sometimes I feel I got the Devil in me, when those crazy low down feelings won't let me be.

Night time pleasures bring morning pain. But I know I know I know I know,,,,,

I'm gonna do it again.

Repeat Chorus and first break.

When I'm rock n rollin it just frees my mind. Gets rid of the stress and lets the body unwind. But all those parties till half past four - when I got home my lover he'd locked the door.

Repeat Chorus and 2nd break

Repeat 1st verse and out.
